Headshot of Dr. Karen Lischka

Dr. Karen Lischka

Dentist

Dr. Lischka has been a co-owner of Kildonan Crossing Dental Centre since 1999.

She became interested in a career in dentistry while she was wearing braces as a teenager. The transformation in her smile and the confidence that came with it made a lasting impression.

After completing her Bachelor of Science in biology at the University of Winnipeg, Karen graduated from the University of Manitoba (UofM) Dental College in 1990.  Additionally, she completed the 2008 Post Graduate Program in Aesthetic Dentistry level II from The University of Minnesota. Continuing her training, she took courses in Orthodontics, Invisalign and Dental Implants. Karen’s love of learning continues as she frequently attends conventions and seminars here in Winnipeg, nationally and internationally.

As a result of Dr. Lischka’s early life experiences and continuing education efforts, she has generated a wealth of knowledge and experience in the field of dentistry. She incorporates the latest technology into her practice such as digital x-rays, digital scanners and soft tissue lasers. Her core philosophy is to listen to patients’ concerns and use a multidisciplinary approach to treat each patient individually. Whether a patient has known her for a day or 30 years, she takes pride in creating a comfortable and relaxing environment for each of them with her team, as they work together to help patients achieve the confidence that comes with a great smile and healthy mouth.

An advocate for the dental industry, Dr. Lischka has served on several committees of the Manitoba Dental Association and has also been a part time pre-clinical instructor at the UofM Dental College. She is a member of the Winnipeg Dental Society, The Manitoba Dental Association, Canadian Dental Association, and Manitoba Prosthodontic Study Club and is a founding member of the Winnipeg Progressive Dental Study Club (an affiliate of the Seattle Study Club).

When not at the office Karen is giving back to the community as a member of the Manitoba Dental Foundation and The Volunteer Associates of The Winnipeg Art Gallery. She also loves spending time outdoors playing golf in the summer and cross-country skiing in the winter, and walking her dog in all four seasons - regardless of the weather!

“It is my great pleasure to address all your questions and concerns from a simple single-tooth restoration to a full mouth complex cosmetic case.”
