What Is the CDCP?
The Canadian Dental Care Plan is a federal initiative designed to help Canadians without private dental insurance access essential dental care. The plan covers a wide range of preventive and restorative treatments, including:
- Exams and X-rays
- Cleanings and fluoride treatments
- Fillings and extractions
- Root canals and dentures
- Gum disease treatments
Please note: cosmetic treatments such as teeth whitening are not covered.
Who Is Eligible?
You may be eligible for CDCP if:
- You do not have dental insurance through an employer or private provider
- You are a Canadian resident who has filed a recent tax return
- Your household income is under $90,000
- You belong to one of the eligible groups (e.g., children under 18, seniors, or adults with a Disability Tax Credit)
