With all the fun and festivities of the holidays, your teeth may be the last thing on your mind, but they shouldn’t be! Here are some tips to keep you smiling through the holidays and into the new year.

Unwrap the Proper Way

Chalk it up to bad habits or sheer excitement of opening gifts and packages, but please do not attempt to use your teeth! Leave your pearly whites to things like eating a delicious meal!

Go Easy on the Egg Nog

It may be a holiday staple, but the high sugar and fat content found in egg nog means that you’ll need to enjoy it in moderation. An alternative solution would be to try a homemade egg nog so you can control the amount of sugar and fat. We’ve found a great recipe that we’ve posted below.

Safe Snacks

Sweet chewy treats are delicious and hard to resist at this time of year. Keep in mind to reduce the effect of high sugar sweets have them with a meal or rinse your mouth with water after eating to help remove the sticky bits.
